Only Wednesday.

Ladies and Gentlemen.. I can honestly say this has been the busiest, craziest, hardest week this year. From exams to parent teacher conferences, there has been very little time for anything, let alone time for Steven and I to spend with one another.

And it's only Wednesday!

The next two nights (including this one) will be spent in Midvale, Utah at Hillcrest High School telling parents what they already know about their children...so far, in the three hours I have been sitting at this table, I have had the pleasure of speaking with six of my students' parents. SIX. Now, compared with some teachers, that is many more than they have had the pleasure of speaking with. But, I mean, come on! Two students an hour? Is this really worth it? Obviously, the answer is yes...or I wouldn't be here. So here, at this lovely table, I will continue to sit at, staring off into oblivion and drinking free Coca Cola..

Steven, on the other hand, took two midterm exams last night, causing him to not get home until near 9:30pm. And who knows what he has going on tonight...labs, assignments, study sessions, work projects...the list can go on and on. Considering the fact that I won't get home until close to 9:00pm tonight and tomorrow, our time together will be spent in dreamland.

Lucky for, due to parent teacher conferences, Friday just so happens to be a "comp day" so there is no school. As such, I will spend the morning sleeping in, go for a much needed run, hit the tanning salon (perhaps), and relax the day away. Come later that evening, I believe my fantastic Lubby has a wonderful date planned where we can get together and catch up on what has been going on the past few days and nights!

But until then...we will keep hobbling along, sending one another silly texts throughout the day, and waiting for Friday to finally make its appearance.

A New Project: DIY Furniture Painting

Last night, Steven and I decided that it was about time that we buy a kitchen table! After nearly two months of having nightly pow-wows, it is time for us to join the civilized world. A couple of weeks ago I saw a small square table at a consignment shop in Salt Lake City. Hopefully, it will still be there next week so that we can buy it! That just leaves us with the problem of somewhere to sit. Lucky for us, we acquired chairs along with purchase last year. Unlucky for us, these chairs desperately need some love, aka a new stain and/or paint job. With all of the excitement and popularity of DIY projects, I decided that I would do this by myself!

Over the course of the next two weeks, I plan to sand down two of these chairs to their original wood grain, prime them, and paint them with a thin coat of light dull red paint. So far, I have spent time doing then pegs that a power sander can't reach. (I will be borrowing my father's power sander to do the larger surfaces.) I didn't realize how much effort, how much work it is to sand off primer and stain from previous jobs! I am using "frugal girl's" advice as I go through my project, in hopes that it turns out perfectly!

I am excited to see how these turn out. I hope that we will be able to have the cute little kitchen we (I) have dreamed about having!
